Gifts & Wishing Well
We are simply excited to celebrate our special day with you, so please don’t feel obliged to give a gift. We know some of you are travelling from far and wide, and we’re just so excited to see you!
We’ll have a physical wishing well on the day, or if you’d like to contribute virtually to our future together:
Sophie Levy and Yoni Hochberg
Essential Information & FAQ
Are there any other pre-wedding events we should be aware of?
Great question! We’re having an Aufruf (Synagogue call-up) on Saturday 16th January at the Masorti service, Emanuel Synagogue (Woollahra).
What is the dress code? What is summer formal?
Summer formal. Breezy and comfortable. No ties needed!
What should I expect at a Jewish Wedding?
Our ceremony will take place under the Chuppah, a canopy that symbolises the home we'll build together. It's open on all four sides, representing hospitality and inclusivity.
The ceremony will be a mixture of Hebrew, Aramaic, and English. The traditions speak to us joining our lives together, and we'll be receiving blessings from loved ones. The ceremony will conclude with us smashing a glass that we made together, immediately followed by a Hora (lively Jewish dancing) – we invite you all to join us on the dance floor!
